Total no of posts: 337 vacancies

Name of the posts:

1. Geologist, Group A: 300 vacancies

2. Jr. Hydro geologists (Scientist B): 07 vacancies

3. Assistant Hydro geologists: 30 vacancies.

Age limit: The age limit is must have attained 21 years and must not have attained 32 years as on 01/01/2011, Relaxation as per Govt rules.

Educational Qualification: Passed with Master’s Degree in Geology or applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized university (OR) Master’s Degree in Mineral Exploration or Master’s Degree in Hydrology or Diploma of associate ship in applied Geology of the Indian school of Mines, Dhanbad.

Application Fee: Candidates applying online Rs 100/- through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp (CRFS) only, SC/ST/PH/Female candidates are exempted from payment of fee, who are applying offline Rs 200/- through single Central Recruitment Fee Stamp (CRFS), Fee exempted for SC/ST/PH/Female candidates.

How to apply: The eligible candidates have to apply through either online or offline mode.

Online Application Form: Candidates have to apply through online from the website www.upsconline.nic.in, on or before 19/09/2011 till 11:59 pm.

Offline Application Form: (From candidates residing in specified remote areas only) The eligible candidates apply offline through prescribed format, that means new common application form, which can be purchased from designated Head Post Offices or Post Offices throughout the country by cash payment of Rs 30/-, the candidates required to paste the postage stamp of Rs 6/- on the Acknowledgement card and send it along with application form, candidates duly filled in application form and acknowledgment card should then mailed in the special envelop, candidates should also write the name of the examination… Geologists Examination, 2011 on the envelop, to the following address, on or before 26/09/2011, Controller of Examinations, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069 received by post/speed post only.
